Along with other members of INBLF’s Washington, DC Chapter, our firm was pleased to play host to lawyers from across the globe at this year’s Black-Tie Weekend. INBLF (International Network of Boutique and Independent Law Firms) exists to deepen connections between boutique and specialty law firms in North America and full-service firms in countries across the globe.
The weekend’s events were spearheaded by our firm’s Nancie Marzulla and Arnie Lutzker of Lutzker & Lutzker LLP. Among INBLF’s member and Board meetings, the weekend’s activities included workshops and panel discussions on topics such as “How AI Can Make the Practice of Law Easier and More Efficient,” “Perspectives on Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation,” and the “30th Anniversary of the UNIDROIT Principles – A high level overview on a game changer for simplified global contracting.”

Participants enjoyed a visit to the Phillips Art Collection and a “Gilded Age” walking tour in DuPont Circle. (DuPont Circle had once been surrounded by Gilded Age Mansions, several of which are still standing.)
The weekend culminated in the Black-Tie Dinner at the beautiful Organization of American States Building next to the White House. Located next to the White House is the headquarters for the Organization of American States, an international diplomatic body that promotes peace and commerce between North and South American nations.
The OAS building was made possible by a philanthropic donation from Andrew Carnegie, a longtime supporter of world peace. The magnificent design was put together by Albert Kelsey and Paul Cret and upon its completion in 1910, quickly drew praise as one of the most elegant pieces of architecture in Washington, D.C.
